| NO UNNECESSARY BAGGAGE Our boards may come shipped in a bag, but all that baggage nonsense stops right there. With simple, functional designs and clean technical features, Forum boards are made to be fun without the excess of any unnecessary baggage. That's the bottomline; no hidden agenda, just pure fun. Whether it’s a true-twin performance freestyle, a directional freeride, or a wider-platform park board, they are all designed with that one thing in mind. Let’s face it, do we really want to put the Forum stamp-of-approval on boards that are well, un-fun? Hell no. Every effort has been made to streamline and strengthen our board line; just try one out and you’ll feel it. There’s something for everyone to ride and we’re positive that run after run, day after day, you’ll look down to unstrap and be like, “Damn, this is a fun board.” Cores SuperGNARTMLE 3 This is our flagship core. With 30% SLW content, it’s our lightest and liveliest core. Engineered in all the right zones to maximize flex properties and create a springy balance of stability and pop, the SuperGNARTMLE 3 delivers pro-level performance. SuperGNARTMLE 2 The SuperGNARTMLE 2 core offers reduced swing weight in the nose and tail for an overall lighter board and effortless aerial rotation. In addition, it contains 25% SLW. SuperGNARTMLE 1 We introduce a combination of lighter and stronger woods and alternate them throughout our SuperGNAR LE 1 core for maximum performance properties. 18% of the core is made up of SLW. The end result is a lighter weight, incredibly smooth-riding core. SuperGNARTMLE The first level of our cores utilizing Grain Belt Technology and premium wood for a lively, refined ride. This is the core used in many of our popular boards. TotallyGNARTM Smooth flex and uncompromised snap describe the output of our TotallyGNAR™ core. It features a blend traditional wood laminates plus strips of sustainable SLW for a lively, poppy feel. FullyGNARTM Within the FullyGNAR™ core there are tip-to-tail laminates of traditional wood and more dense wood around the edge zones of the board. This gives the core more durability where you need it without compromising the sporty flex GNARTM Wood is good. The GNAR™ is a basic core with a superior feel. Lightweight and flexible with an incredible amount of pop. This core is snappy and responsive for total freestyle fun. Compound Matrix Our consistent, custom-designed Compound Matrix core produces a predictable ride every run, every day, all winter long. Grain Belt By rotating the wood laminates within the core, we are able to increase the compression force of the wood by approximately ten times. This construction technique makes our cores more durable under the binding area, where core compression is the greatest cause of board failure. Increased edge hold and responsiveness are some of the other valuable performance properties of this design. Look for it in our cores with the “LE” and enjoy the factory fresh feeling of Grain Belt technology. Sustainability/SLW It’s no mystery that we love boards made with wood cores but we also love trees. For 2009 Forum has committed to using SLW (sustainable lightweight wood) in our cores. SLW grows four times faster than most commercially-harvested woods among other environmental benefits. Its mechanical properties are stronger than balsa wood and about the same weight, so it makes perfect sense to use it in our best cores. We want to keep the powder days coming, just like you.
Laminates Light Triax with Carbon Plus Thick strands of ultra-light carbon fiber run down the middle of the Light Triax laminate offering increased snap off the nose and tail, all while adding minimal weight to the package. Light Triax with Carbon For this construction we use a smaller gauge carbon fiber strand and spread it out into the Light Triax laminate, giving reliable strength and power. Light Triax You get smooth longitudinal flex from tip-to-tail with the torsional rigidity needed for reliable performance in all snow conditions. This construction features three layers in the 0º and ±45º fiber orientation. Quadrax Predictable flex is maintained with this laminating process. Four thin layers of fiberglass are configured to deliver smooth, responsive flex in the 0º/90º and ±30º fiber orientation. Biax This is the foundation from which every other laminate configuration is derived; basic and completely functional. This construction offers time-tested, catch-free response and stability through its 0º/90º fiber orientation.
Bases
Formula Just as the auto racing-inspired name implies, this base is our fastest. With proper maintenance it will stay fast, all season long. Fluid This low maintenance, wax-impregnated base delivers durability for everyday use and abuse. Free Base This base is the smooth under surface of your snowboard that, when combined with gravity and inertia, allows you to glide effortlessly down the snowy hill. And as it’s name implies, the Free Base comes free with purchase. Back to FORUM SNOWBOARDS |
