Choosing a Paddle Board
There are lots of paddle boards on the market to choose from and Red Paddle Co are market leaders in inflatable stand-up paddle boards. Based in sunny Devon, the British Brand has been producing inflatable SUPs since 2008. Backed by a 5 Year Warranty (on the new 2020 range), Red Paddle Co boards are produced using their unique construction process called Tech Air which provides unrivalled stiffness when pumped to the recommend 18 PSI.
Not all inflatable SUPs are created equal and some are unfortunately more like a lilo than an SUP. If you are looking to buy a cheaper board then we would recommend trying to demo it first to make sure it is what you expect. We have demo boards available of the most popular Red Paddle Co boards so if you are local to us in Fleet then why not drop us a message and we can arrange a time for you to try before you buy.
The Red Paddle Co range at first glance looks pretty confusing as there are lots of options but it’s pretty easy to work though it.
The top selling boards in the line-up are the Red Paddle Co Ride SUP’s. They are available in 3 sizes, 9’8″, 10’6″ & 10’8″.
If you want an all purpose SUP board that works super good in a wide range of conditions then the RPC Ride is a great option. The 10’6″ is the most popular size and as such is available in 2 different colours – Blue or Purple.
Smaller paddlers tend to go for the 9’8″ (it’s also a good option if you want to catch some waves), and bigger / heavier paddlers tend to go for the 10’8″. The bigger 10’8″ is also a good option of you plan on taking a smaller passenger with you. As well as being 2″ longer than the 10’6″ it’s also 2″ wider which provides an extra 25ltrs of volume.
Our next best selling SUP from Red Paddle Co is the Sport, and in particular the 11’3″ Sport. Also available in both blue or Purple, the Sport is classed as a ‘Touring’ board and is great for distance paddling. It’s the same width as the best selling Ride 10’6″ but longer and a sleeker shape that improves glide through the water. It features a 9″ FCS Touring fin that helps the board to track through the water in a straight line (presuming you are paddling properly!!)
